Sheepscot Valley Health Center provides family health care to residents of Jefferson, Somerville, Washington, Whitefield, Windsor and beyond. Located between Maine’s capital city and the coast, the health center makes medical care accessible for people of all ages. Our medical providers care for infants, children, adults and pregnant women and served 4,209 patients in 2009. For those who require hospitalization, we offer hospital care at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta.

The health center has grown significantly over the years utilizing six medical providers today. Roy Miller, MD, the health center’s first doctor when it opened in 1980 and Carol Eckert, MD who joined the practice in 1982 still care for patients.

Situated near the banks of the Sheepscot River, the health center is located in a renovated church, made possible by the dedication of local residents.  Coopers Mills itself is a close-knit and supportive community that provides an assortment of community activities including public suppers, seasonal celebrations, and civic events. The town is located in a picturesque region of Maine where there are abundant opportunities for outdoor activities including hiking, kayaking, swimming and fishing.
